The match is bookable by itself. Nothing else has to be settled that day — no method, no weight, no dates, no purchase — and it stays separable for one reason: we will not promise an exact shade from a photograph, so the question closes where the hair is.
What leaves the room with you is a decision rather than a conversation: which strands were tried, whether it came to one shade or a blend, and the light that confirmed it, written down. A new process on your own hair reopens it.
What actually happens, in order
The order does not vary. Sections come first, because the nape and the crown have never lived the same life.
Then the ring, which stays on the head rather than in the air: a strand goes into the mid-lengths and is combed through until it travels with your hair rather than beside it.
Then out of the door, because nothing is confirmed under workshop light. Three conditions are used — the working light inside, shaded daylight at the doorway, and the light from above with the hair turned back. One disagreement sends the strand back.
You close the decision, in that hesitation keeps it open; but a strand we do not consider settled is not signed off.

Fitting your own colour work into the days you have
The order cannot be reversed: your colour finishes, the match is taken against the finished result, the fitting comes last.
A root tint is the mild version and still wants an appointment to itself. Toner and gloss are the deceptive ones: small services that move exactly the quality being matched, and that recede as they wear. Lightening and correction govern the calendar, neither reliably finishing in one sitting.
No number of days will come from us, only the sequence. Each colour service takes a day of its own, the result wants a day to settle, the match is a separate booking, and the fitting sits behind all three.
When nothing held will match your hair
Some hair has no ready answer on the shelf. That ends the search rather than the appointment.

A blend is a preparation step, and that step wants a day of its own. Nor does it go straight onto the head: the finished bundle goes back into your hair and out to the doorway first.
What coastal light does to the judgement
Daylight is abundant here for most of the year — a condition to work around rather than an advantage to advertise. Overhead sun at midday flattens everything: every strand returns the same brightness, the direction the hair leans vanishes underneath it, and two different shades begin to agree. Whitewash, pale terraces and the sea add to it from below. A shade approved on a white terrace at noon has not been approved — almost anything passes there.
So we go outside without going into the sun: shade with open sky above it, and the outdoor part kept away from the hardest hour.
How the appointment can end
The easiest ending is a shade: something held says the same thing in every light it is carried into, and closes that day.
The second is that your own colour has to move first. With a plan running, an unfinished root or a correction in progress, the match is postponed: that service takes its day, the result settles, then the match reopens. Three steps, none shareable.
The third is that this is a blend, not a code: where your hair cannot be described by one shade, the appointment ends with a specification instead of a name.
One ending is unwelcome: we cannot match this from what is held. That is a fork rather than a refusal — either the extension hair goes through a colour process of its own, or the target moves somewhere reachable. Both lengthen the calendar.
